Nursery Cleaner
Reporting to
The Nursery Cleaner is responsible to the Manager, Directors.
The cleaner will work independently to perform a variety of regular and one off cleaning tasks and
duties as directed by the management.

Main Responsibilities
ensure the cleanliness of the nursery and for maintaining high and consistent standards
Take initiative to perform cleaning and tidying tasks that are not specifically contained within the rota but require attention as part of maintaining overall high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
Liaise with the Manager as required to ensure the cleaning operates smoothly
Report cleaning supply requirements and stock levels to the line manager
Ensure Health & Safety, quality and general procedure compliance
Work as part of a team and support other members of staff to meet standards and school objectives
Safe storage of cleaning products
Reporting of equipment faults and damaged items to the management
Ensuring that all doors are closed and secure before leaving the premises
Ensure that all lights are turned off before leaving the premises
Specific Duties
Cleaning of all floors including mopping and vacuum cleaning
Cleaning of all toilets including sinks and floors
Empty all waste bins and dispose of waste correctly (recycling, general waste and food waste).
Use a fogger each day to kill any viruses including but not limited to coronavirus. Equipment, PPE and training to be provided.
Replace bin liners where necessary
Damp dusting of all wooden furniture and shelves
Additional hygienic cleaning of door handles, hand rails and chairs.
Person Specification
Knowledge: Some knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations, as they relate to the operation of cleaning equipment
and the dilution of cleaning products.
Experience: of undertaking a range of cleaning duties.

Working Hours
This post is for 51 weeks of the year and requires a commitment of 10 hours per week, divided of 5 days, Monday to Friday. Hours of work may be arranged between the hours of 6.00 am and 8.00 am or 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm. You may be requested from time to time to attend a meeting during or out of hours
Holidays
Annual leave must be arranged in advance with the management. During your employment you will receive a paid holiday entitlement of 5.6 weeks inclusive of public/bank holidays subject to a maximum of 28 days.
Starting Salary
The hourly rate is £9.60. PAYE, pro rata. We are committed to the continued development of skills amongst our staff and appropriate training will be provided as necessary.
